This doesn’t mean that your muscles mass have to be bulky, neither do you have to lift very heavy weights to lose weight. All you need is simply exercising to increase your muscle tone and you will stand to gain a perfect weight loss, more caloric expenditure at rest and the ability to even eat more. 
Our muscles are the engines that actually burn out energies in calorie form during exercises, during daily processes and use. It is true for both men and women that the more muscles mass one has the more calories they burn. For every pound of muscle you add to your body, you burn out 60 more calories each day. Does that sound too good to be true for you?  One pound of muscle will burn an extra half pound calorie per month! That is why it is to your own advantage to tone your muscles some more!

Here is another fact you need to get, the LARGER muscles burns FAT more rapidly than the smaller muscles. So therefore, you should engage in exercises that will help tone larger muscles in a greater mass, such as the rear end muscle (gluteas maximus) and the larger muscle on the front of the thigh (quadriceps). And also the more muscle mass your body has, the more caloric consumption will be required to perform body functions. This means that you can eat more, but it doesn’t mean that you should just anything and everything. To achieve a good balance between caloric intake and energy consumption is by eating several smaller meals daily, eating foods high in protein and fiber, and low in sugar and fat.

If you are really sure being agitated of losing weight and keeping it off, it is self-serving that you increase your muscle mass. Your body will burn calories more efficiently whether you are moving or resting if your muscles are toned. This whole thing just translates into proper weight loss, weight maintenance, more energy and more self-confidence.
